Watermelon
Summer is season of watermelon in Japan. My son's grand mother gave his grandchildren this watermelon. My younger son was really happy to get watermelon. He loves watermelons. When we went to supermarket, he rally wanted it. But it was expensive yet. Younger watermelons are expensive. July is nice month to get watermelon in Japan.
By the way, summer is very hot and humid in Japan. Usually I suffer from the summer heat. And I can eat only cool and light foods which like watermelons and cold noodles.

I think there are several types of noodles in Japan.
Tess wrote on her blog. It is "Udon".

Hey Lucy, you liked my picture of udon! >(°|°)<
I also love to eat all kinds of noodles.

Nice looking watermelon! Was it your mother or your husband's mother who gave her grandchildren the melon?

Strawberries and peaches are not quite in season here yet, and early fruit is also still expensive in the supermarket. I agree that summer is the season to buy fresh fruits and vegetables.

Hi Lucy. We grow watermelons in the north of Australia. There are these new seedless watermelons. I don't think they taste as good as the ones with seeds.

Enjoy your summer!

Water melon and strawberries are my children's favourite fruits. Right now, strawberries are too costly to buy, so I buy mandarines and kiwi fruits, they are lovely.

Tess,
Hello! Now wheat is short supply in the world. We can't get it self-sufficient. So noodles are getting to expensive in Japan.

OH, you say "early fruit". Thnak you!
I got it some English words. But I forget them soon...

Cazzie!
Hi!
You have a big family. When you go to supermarkets, you have to buy a lot of foods. And I think your fridge are very big.

Yes, our fridge is big, for all the fresh fruit and vegetables to be stored in for sure!

Hungarians do love watermelons, too!
I don't get the misery about its seed. The big black seeds are the best part. They are crunchy, oily, tasty!! There's no need to have seedless watermelons :))
But people are strange.

SzélsőFa,
Hello! I wanted to comment to your blig. But it is hard to read them somtimes. I'm sorry.
Yes, seeds are important. When I ate watermelons in chaildfood, I spit seeds to our gardens.
And one day, seeds start to come up in our gardens.
