Trains
Jay asked us, "What did you want to be when you grew up?"
I can't remember it. Probably, I didn't have any plan. Consequently, I couldn't have dreams.
So, I sometimes ask my youngerson about thing. He said "I want to be train driver." My older son was same too. Also my husband was same too in his chaldhood. Boys like trains in Japan. They like to see trains or books about trains. Next month, we are going to the Hokkaido region. And we will get on trains and steam engine. My sons will enjoy trains.
By the way, what would you say in English "a driver of train"? I think it is not a train conductor.

Oph!!! Sory....
just want to say "HAVE A NICE DAY!!!"
Hi Lucy,
As a driver of trains, I can let you know I am known as a "Train Driver". Back in the days of Steam Trains, I would have been known as an Engineman, and would have had a Fireman by my side helping. But in those days, women were not allowed on the job, and the days of regular Steam Trains are now long gone.

Engineer, perhaps? Or train-driver ?
I am looking forward to photos of trains. I love steam engines so very much.
In America we call the guy who runs the train the Train Engineer. In the old days they had to keep the engines running with coal.
I've never traveled on a train. I've ridden trains at amusement parks, but those are short rides. I do love trains too though. I think it would be a lot of fun to travel that way.
In Hungary, thousands of people travel by train, every day.
Asya,
Hello!! Thank you for comments about my blog. If you have time, please visit it again!!
Rebecca
Thank you. I use this word "train Driver". My yonger son want to be
"train driver".
Szélső Fa,
You like steam engines!! Next month I will post pictures of steam engines.
Jay,
I think cars or plans are best facilites of travel in the USA. A lot of people travel by trains in Japan. So there are many kind of trains in Japan.
I'm looking forward to seing them!

Dear Lucy, it's me again.
As you know I have my blog for a couple of months and just today, I found out how can I see all the comments people left over the time. I am sorry I was unable to see them before. I saw that you left heartful and kind comments of March 29,30 and 31 and of April 7, 13, 17, 23. I would like to make up for the loss and thank you here and now.
I hope from now on I can watch and reply all new comments.
Szélső Fa,
You found my comments!! Thank you.
I did same thing about my blog. First,I couldn't find LanternLight's comments. Because, I didn't understand sysytem of blog.
Lucy, both my great grandfather's (my dad's grandads) were involved with trains. One was a train driver, the other was a Station Master, which meant that he used to blow the whistle on the platform to let everyone know when it was time for the train to leave. My dad passed down to me the original whistle his grandfather had used, and I used to annoy my parents by blowing it all the time when I was a kid.
Anyway, by far the best fact about those two great grandfather's of mine, was that both had only one arm, but my dad was never told why. How ace is that!
"What did you want to be when you grew up?"
That would be Train Driver. But at the time, they had too many train drivers so here I am.
I work in IT, and think that playing piano in a bordello would be a more honest career.
when i was young i always wanted to be a pilot & fly a plane
Kieran,
Probably, you were a active boy, when you were a kid.(like my younger son) Your parents told you " Stop to blow the whistle." But you didn't stop it. LOL
LanternLight,
I work in IT too. I couldn't imagine my job, when I was a kid.
muse-ic,
Hello!
Pilot is a nice job!
