Fudge
Yesterday, I ate a homemade chocolate from a American. He said "it is Fudge. My mother made it."
It was so nice. But I didn't know fudge. His mother's fudge was softy chocolate and nuts. After that, I watched a movie called "Carlie and The Chocolate Factory" again for learning English.

Augustus pigged out, who is a fat boy. And he drown in the chocolate pool. he goes through in the Strawberry-flavored chocolate-coated fudge room. I found "fudge".
Anyway, Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka speaks very fast. I can't follow him.

Hi Lucy! I have been busy after the holidays and didn't have time to comment. I think it would help if you turned on the English subtitle feature while the movie plays, that way you can pause the movie and read what the character is saying. I always turn on the subtitle feature when I watch DVD's because sometimes the audio is not very clear during action shots. Once my mother was watching a television show where two Japanese actors were speaking English but they showed Japanese subtitles on the screen and she was translating for us. I said Mom they're speaking English we can understand them, and she started laughing because she always translated Japanese to English for us when we watched moves.

AZ,
Recently, there is a lot of DVD. I enjoy and learn English. Anyway, native English speakers can speak too fast.

Lucy,

watching movies with English sound PLUS English subtitles is really healpful in learning the language.

If you have a favourite English speaking movie, I suggest you watch it over and over again. You can even learn complete sentences from the movie.

Johnny Depp is very cute. ;-)

When my daughter was in high school, she was in a play at her school of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. She acted as one of the umpa-loompas. She did not like her costume.

Fudge is very delicious. I made it for Christmas when my daughter was young. I don't make it for just my husband and me. It's too fattening.
