"Setsubun"
"Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!" If we say it in English, Damons out! Fortune in!!
My sons were scared the "red oni" in his preschool . They threw beens, while they were saying "Oni wa soto! Fuku wa uchi!" in a big voice. Some kids were crying..

When my older son was 1 year old, this picture was taken in his preschool. My younger son said
"blue oni" had come to his preschool. Anyway "oni" was preschool teacher.

Holy cow! That dude is scary!

There is no way that would be allowed in US schools. There would be people lined up around the block protesting something like this. LOL

Jay,
It is scary, but kids like it. After that kids eat beans, one for each year of one's life.
So, I have to eat many beans..

Cazzie!!!,
My younger son said I was not scared. NO way!!

SzélsőFa,
Kids play to throw beans toward Oni. That is anuual events in the preschools.
When it is Setsubun, we throw beans in our house.
That is old Japanese culture from old chaina. The evil spirits go away, and luck come in to our house. And we hope it is happy, no ill.

Hello Lucy, I hope you're allright!

I need some help, please!

I am a member of a women's group and we are looking for expressions for pregnancy, being pregnant in different languages. The word itself is interesting AND the meaning of it. For example the Hungarian word 'várandós anya' means 'expectant mother', which is a neutral expression, but 'terhes anya' means 'a mother with burden' which does not sound so good. See what I mean? Can you help?
Thanks!!!

Hello! Sometimes I am looking for words which have expression in English too.

First, we say "maternity". In Japanese
we say "ninpu". And we say "ninpu-san".

Second, this is a magazine for pregnants called "tamago club".
"tamago" means "egg".

Third, dogs were loved by pregnants Because old Japanese beleaved it was easy to bear for dogs. And dogs had a lot of puppies.

I hope you would help this comments..
