Black Santa
Yesterday, my younger son had a Christmas Party in his preschool. He really enjoyed it.
He said excitedly he got a Christmas present from real Santa Claus, who was fat, who had white beard, who had glasses.
And his teacher told a black Santa clause who comes over to bad kid’s house.
When we watched on a TV quiz show last year, I knew a black Santa. So, Sometimes I said if you do bad things, a black Santa will come.

Here at official Santa Claus events, the SantaClaus is often accompanied by one (or sometimes two) young devil(s). It is to frighten off kids from misbehaving and little mischiefs. They are friendly, though.
And also, it is not unusual to surprise the kid with a bunch of fresh rods - it is supposed to be given to ill-behaved kids. The rods are small and symbolic.
Hello,
I'm late. Because I asked my canadian friend about your comment.
But he didnn't know about "rods".
So people have each cultures.
And we enjoy Christmas days.
I don't know about rods either.
But a Black santa who comes to bad children would be considered politically incorrect and racist here in Canada.
It's interesting how different things are around the world.
Over here in the US we always tell children that if they don't behave Santa will leave a lump of coal in their stockings.
But, the idea of a "Black" Santa coming to bad kids would DEFINITELY NOT go over too well here.
These 'rods' are equipments for the parents to beat their miss-behaving children with. Of course, noone beats the kids with these rods, these are symbolic ones. VERY small ones.
It is just like a reminder for the kids to behave themselves.
-LGirl-,
I heard Black Santa's story was in Nordic. Black Santa spreads addle food in a bad kid's room...
I think it is scary story.
Jay,
