When my older son was about 5 years old, he liked to get toys with hamburgers. And he got tired of toys soon. I was very upset with him and Mc Donnald's advertisements. Because I thought it was bad in environment. I said to him "You eat hamburgers. That is OK. But you should learn to be patient. "

Anyway it was very difficult for him. Because he had a young brother. He behaved in babyish ways.

And I thought companies should use current social issues in their advertising.

Oh I HATE those toys too. The only time we will eat fast food is when we are on Vacation.
Those toys usually go to the charity shops pretty quickly. Junky bits of plastic.
We watch a lot of Tv the ads are impossible to avoid.

Yes, the first thing the kids want is the toy and the meal is not even finished. I agree with you there Lucy.

When my daughter was little, we tried to discourage her from watching TV. When she was about 10 or 11 years old, she volunteered to stop watching TV for the whole summer if we would buy her something she really wanted. She wouldn't tell us what she wanted, but we said OK. She did not watch TV for the whole summer; at the end she and my husband went to a big electronics store and bought a Sony "Watchman" television!
